Central Virginia Special Needs Homeschoolers

Although all our children are special, some children truly have needs which greatly affect their physical, social, emotional and intellectual life to the point where "normal" development is difficult. This can be hard on the child and on the family. Is there interest in having a special list, or an occasional parent meeting, for homeschooling families of kids with special needs? We could arrange speakers, or just share our own successes and challenges.

The membership of BRCHE shall be composed of families who have at least one child who is, or will be, home schooled and reside in Wilkes County, North Carolina. We have social and education events including but not limited to: Back to School Bash. Fall S'mores Fest, Winter Workshop for parents/teachers, field trips, chorus and band 4-H Club. Each year more activities are added.

Strengthening the bond of Muslim families!

Join us for discussions, information sharing and resources on educational topics as they apply towards teaching our children. We share ideas, plan social or academic activities, field trips, classes, outdoor as well as indoor activities. Active participation is encouraged and is what will keep this group alive. Please feel free to coordinate an event.

Meeting: Monthly member directed activities based mainly in the Prince William County area.

We are particularly focused on learning sustainability skills and Earth-centered lessons, and our activities are geared toward those ideas as well as bringing our kids together to have some fun and get to know each other. We welcome anyone who is homeschooling or thinking of homeschooling. We are a very informal, loosely organized group. Our main purpose is to support and share information. Allegan Area Homeschoolers sponsors an annual fair and talent show, a track and field day, Scholastic book club, game days, field trips and various member lead activities. Group begins each meeting with optional prayer.

Meeting: First Thursday each month, September through May, 7:00 p.m., Blessed Sacrament Church (basement) on the corner of M-89 and Hubbard Street in Allegan.
