We work to bring together homeschoolers and their supporters across the Northwoods. We are particularly focused on learning sustainability skills and Earth-centered lessons, and our activities are geared toward those ideas as well as bringing our kids together to have some fun and get to know each other. We'd love to have you join us!

The Moms' Group

Encouragement, Instruction & Fellowship!

The heart of Mom's Meetings is definitely encouragement, but there is also instruction, fellowship, healthy food and fun. Women from many different churches and backgrounds come to these monthly meetings. They are a warm and safe haven of encouragement. We talk about topics that women face such as finding time for prayer, strengthening marriage, becoming a better parent by understanding ourselves and our children better, handling adversity, difficult relationships, and learning ways to develop Christian character in our lives so we can be a better example to those around us.

Meeting: We meet at University City Church of Christ the second Thursday night of each month at 7:00 p.m. through the school year. Off during the summer.

Homeschool Support and fellowship

Welcoming homeschoolers of all kinds. The goal is to plan a weekly or bi weekly park day, occasional field trips, holiday parties, and whatever else sounds fun! This is a judgement free zone. School at homers, virtual homeschoolers, religious homeschoolers, secular homeschoolers, unschoolers, are all welcome. We all have our reasons for homeschooling and methods that work best for our families. So lets get together for fun and support and to share ideas both online and in real life!

Meeting: Location varies, park days are primarily in and around Lady Lake and Fruitland Park.

The purpose of this group is to connect homeschoolers and their families in the Isle of Wight County area with helpful social and academic supports. Here you can share local resources that are helpful to you or find area resources that have been helpful to others. This group will be public for a short time, and then it will become a closed group where membership has to be approved.
