LIGHT is a secular grassroots non-profit organization directed by member consensus. Our common interest is home-education. The purpose of LIGHT is to offer information, organize activities for members by members (and their children and families), hold meetings that support members in their home education choice. All services are provided through volunteer efforts.

Our group is open to all homeschoolers regardless of homeschooling philosophy, religion or ethnic background. We also invite those who are interested in home schooling their children in the future to join us in order to learn more. Our goal is to give our children and each other support, ideas, resources, and social enrichment in an encouraging and uplifting environment.
Meeting: All members can organize activities, field trips, clubs, playdates, in the Queens County area.

NYCHEA offers support, information and connection opportunities with other homeschool parents. We offer hundreds of events and annual activities to choose from including: game days, craft fairs, performances, museum tours, picnics and more. NYCHEA members also have access to classes ranging from Phycics to Robotics and African Dance. Sports are organized by NYCHEA families, including basketball and soccer. Annual membership fee $36.00.

BAHC serves as a way to share ideas about curriculum and methodology about homeschooling.
