The World Is Our Classroom

This group has been established to connect homeschooling families in Martin County and the surrounding area. We can share ideas, buy/sell/trade curriculum, set- up play dates, field trips, and encourage one another as we educate our children. Most of our gatherings happen on Fridays. Our group is made up of different homeschooling reasons, methods, and interests. We meet-up with families interested in joining. Then there is a simple registration form and yearly membership fee to get fully connected to the group.

Meeting: Every Friday mid-morning

Exploring Charlotte Mason's philosophies

As a new reading group in the Mebane area, we are beginning with the quintessential CM-introduction, For the Children's Sake, and will continue on with reading through Charlotte Mason's volumes. The goal of our group is to provide support and rich discussions regarding Miss Mason's philosophy and methodology. We hope to grow in our understanding of her principles in order to implement this teaching in our homes, our home school, and our daily lives. The purpose of this group is to provide a safe environment for our children to play and bond with other children while the parents can talk about their home school ideas or just about life in general. We get together at least once a month so that the children can bond. As a safeguard the group will be closed so that we can keep our children safe.

HOME is a Christian-based support group, providing members with a monthly newsletter, support group meetings, reports on political issues affecting the homeschool community, and opportunities for field trips and other educational activities. H.O.M.E. has many activities, events, co-ops, classes, and field trips scheduled throughout the month.

HOPE in the Sandhills is a group of local moms from Moore County, NC and the surrounding areas who are "Helping Others Prioritize Education"! We meet for field trips, local events, parties, educational classes, and more! We have a 4-H club, Reading Challenge, Spelling Bee, and other exciting things for your children (and for the moms!) to be a part of! We focus on elementary-aged students, but welcome all ages if they are interested.
