The purpose of Home Instruction Ministry is to provide the opportunity for home schooling families to come together in a Christian atmosphere. To be a source of encouragement, a guide to information and an opportunity to develop lasting friendships. HIM enrollment is available to all home schooling families. Parents and their children actively participate in our once a month program.

The Roman TORCH
TORCH, a National Homeschooling Group is starting a local chapter. Aptly named the Roman Torch, we would like to extend an open invitation to join. Membership is open to anyone. Some highlights of our local group (some futuristic): Monthly and/or weekly meetings, book club, sports teams, 4-H, field trips (zoos, museums, nature centers, historical sites) as well as faith based trips and or camping.
Meeting: Our meetings and other activities will be held at St. Paul's Church, corner of Bedford and Cyprus Streets, Rome, NY.

Homeschool Wild Days at Shawangunk Nature Preserve
Once a month, all day, hands-on science and nature crafts
Once every month homeschoolers from Oneida and Herkimer counties gather at the Shawangunk Nature Preserve to spend the day doing nature study. The Preserve is a nonprofit so the extremely minimal fees go to cover their expenses only. If you preregister we can gear the program towards the kids ages that will be in the majority.
Meeting: The Preserve is closed from January to March so our Wild Days will start up again in April.
