We are a small and academically inclined homeschooling support group. Our activities are for children ages 8 and above. It includes public speaking, Math&Art Afternoons, mini science fairs, co-op classes, field trips and parents discussion nights. Our shared learning topics includes; science, art/music, math, history, geography, literature, writing, acting, foreign language, life skills and communication.

Meeting: We are asking members who join to participate once a month in our events or contribute to our discussions.

There's a lot going on in Contra Costa County, especially for homeschooling families, and here is a great group to share it with! Join us for regular meetups, online support and new friends! The decision to educate your children at home is a big one that can be challenging and very exciting at the same time. Having a community, both online and in person is a great way to make connections with other local homeschoolers. We welcome both new and seasoned homeschooling parents and kids of all ages and learning styles.

Homegrown Kids
(HGK)

An East Bay Homeschooling Community

Homegrown Kids is an inclusive group of homeschooling families in the East Bay. We meet weekly for park days and organize field trips, classes, potlucks, and other events according to our interests and schedules. We are a supportive network of families who get together to enrich our homeschooling experiences through play, socialization, and the exchange of ideas, suggestions, and resources.

Meeting: Park days are Mondays at 11:00 p.m. We have a monthly rotating schedule of four parks/playgrounds.

Serving: EL Sobrante, Albany, Orinda, Richmond, Kensington, San Francisco, Walnut Creek, El Cerrito, Albany, Berkeley and Oakland areas.

(NEEB)

Whether your interest is hiking, exploring, observing or writing in your nature journal, you are sure to have fun. NEEB hosts an occasional organized field trips to San Francisco and the Marin County areas. Our nature hikes in the East Bay area for parents and their children are great fun.

Meeting: Hikes are held the first and third Tuesday each month at various locations.

Culture, Education, Recreation!

The Northern California African American Homeschooler's Association is designed to inform members about cultural, academic, and recreational activities in our region. African-American families in this group organize field trips and playgroups and are encouraged to attend group activities. We have an annual black history fair, summer park days, and an annual family Kwanzaa event. All homeschooling philosophies are welcome. No membership fees.

Meeting: Group meets in various locations, in hopes of strengthening the cultural bonds within the African American community.
